Checking children in and out

Record arrivals, departures, and room moves through the day.

You can check children in and out from the Children list, a room's page, or a child's profile. Staff can check any child in or out; parents can do so for their own children.

Checking a child in

  1. Find the child.
  2. Choose Check in.
  3. Pick the room they're starting in.

The child is now counted as present in that room, and the time is recorded.

Checking a child out

Choose Check out on a child who's currently checked in. The time is recorded and they're no longer counted as present.

Moving a child between rooms

If a child moves rooms during the day, record a room move so they're counted in the right place. Their original check-in time is kept, so their total time present stays accurate. Room moves are a staff action.

Checking several children in at once

On a room's page you can select multiple children and use the bulk Check in or Check out actions — handy at drop-off and collection times.

How "who's present" is worked out

Each check-in, check-out, and room move is saved as an event and never overwritten. Meadow reads the latest events to show who's present right now. Because the history is kept, your records stay trustworthy — the live counts always reflect what was actually recorded.
