Managing rooms

Create, edit, and archive the rooms in your service.

You manage rooms under School settings → Classrooms. Owners and managers can make changes here (the rooms.manage permission); other roles can see rooms but not edit them.

Adding a room

  1. Go to School settings → Classrooms.
  2. Choose Add Room.
  3. Fill in the room's details:
    • Room Name (required) — for example, "Sunshine Room".
    • Icon — pick a visual icon to make the room easy to recognise at a glance.
    • Size (m²) (optional) — the room's floor space, used for capacity planning. See Room size and capacity.
    • Description (optional) — any notes about the room.
  4. Choose Create Room.

Editing a room

Select the edit (pencil) action on a room card, update any of its details, and choose Update Room.

Archiving a room

Rooms are archived, not permanently deleted, so your history stays intact.

  1. Choose the delete (archive) action on a room card.
  2. Confirm in the Archive Room dialog.

An archived room is hidden from everyday lists but can be restored later. Archiving is the right choice when a room is no longer in use but you want to keep its past records.
